Preparing the Ground
First workers clear the site and level the dirt. Then they dig out areas where the building and slabs will sit, and next gravel is added to make a strong base
Building the foundation
Second, wooden or metal forms are set up to shape the concrete. Rebar will be placed inside to make the concrete stronger. Concrete is then poured into the forms to create the footings and foundation walls
Pouring the concrete slab
Third, a flat area inside the foundation is prepared with gravel and a plastic sheet to keep moisture out. Concrete is poured, spread, and smoothed until it's level Workers then let it cure so it becomes strong enough to hold the building
Exterior Slabs & Drive areas
Outside, workers prepare the ground for sidewalks, driveways, and parking areas. Forms and rebar are set up again. Concrete is poured, leveled, and finished with special tools so vehicles can drive on it safely
Finishing Touches
Expansion joints are cut into the slabs so the concrete can expand and contract without cracking. The surface may be brushed or textured to prevent slipping. After curing the site is ready for construction for the building
